UAE Warriors
Conceptualized as a platform for local and international fighters to showcase their combat skills and entertain audiences across the globe, UAE Warriors has to date realized 19 events, including 5 in 2020 despite the significant challenges presented by Covid-19. Relaunched in January 2019 under the revamped management of Palms Sports, the unprecedented success attained in terms of both production and fan engagement has catapulted the promotion to new heights.
Swimming Tournament for Students of Determination – Autism Swim 2020
The very first of its kind, Palms Sports, in association with Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination and Al Ghazali School, organized a swimming competition for autistic students on 22 January 2020. Over 50 autistic students of different ages and abilities participated in the event, showcasing their athletic competencies. More than 50 Palms Sports swimming instructors, lifeguards and supervisors overlooked all activities. Throughout the event, the highest standards in health and safety and international best practices were implemented and maintained, including a 1:1 instructor to student ratio.
Mohamed Bin Zayed Summer Program
Palms Sports launched an international training program for refugee children displaced from countries plagued with conflict. The first program was initiated 14th July through to August 8th, 2019, in Mreijeb Al Fhoud Camp for Syrian Refugees in Jordan, wherein 30 highly experienced and qualified coaches were availed to teach Jiu-Jitsu, self-defense, and language skills to over 800 children and adults alike. Palms Sports was able to provide, in coordination with UAE Red Crescent, UN, and IJJF, a window of opportunity for those in dire need of hope and a brighter future.
Palms Sports Academies
Palms Sports Academies was launched in 2019, providing highly specialized Jiu-Jitsu training and support to young Emiratis with the goal of preparing athletes to succeed on the local, regional, and international stage. Initially, 4 academies were inaugurated in Abu Dhabi, with program expansion plans firmly in place to open a total of 30 academies across the UAE.
Team 777
Palms Sports initiated the elite Team 777 as an additional avenue to showcase the ever-growing pool of Emirati talent produced from the multitude of Palms Sports talent development programs. Team 777 hosts some of the UAE’s most high-profile and successful Jiu-Jitsu athletes, creating a competitive force to be reckoned with both regionally and internationally.
Traditional Rowing Program
In providing ongoing opportunities to mark the proud heritage of the United Arab Emirates, in 2019 Palms Sports initiated a traditional rowing program for cycle 2 and 3 students in select Ministry of Education schools across the 7 emirates of the UAE. The program culminates in an end of season tournament where the skills and development of students are showcased in an organized race between all participating schools. Winning schools are recognized as the first to hold the inaugural Traditional Rowing Program Cup and their achievement showcased at a prestigious award ceremony.
Emirati-Fit
Palms Sports launched the Emirati Fit program across 88 Ministry of Education schools in 2018 as a unique group training program where students encourage each other to fulfill their fitness objectives, lose weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Each year, over 1,800 classes are delivered to more than 19,000 students who take part in the fun, games-based lessons.
Making of the Champions
The Making of Champions Jiu-Jitsu initiative was inaugurated in 2017 in aim to support and adopt gifted Emirati athletes from schools by providing extensive support, financial sponsorship, and training to those champions in the making to represent the UAE in various international sports forums. The goal of the program is to develop an elite team of professional Jiu-Jitsu athletes capable of achieving outstanding results in local, regional, and international Jiu-Jitsu tournaments and championships.
Autism Centre Jiu-Jitsu Program
In 2017, Palms sports initiated an ongoing special needs Jiu-Jitsu program to provide training to those students under the Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs. The training provides a valuable opportunity for inclusivity for those with special needs to access the full advantages the sport of Jiu-Jitsu offers.
People of Determination Jiu-Jitsu Training
In coordination with Al Ain Club and Zayed Higher Organization for People of determination, Palms Sports has provided a continued service for some of our most valued members of society in delivering tailored Jiu-Jitsu classes for students with special needs. Training was initiated in November 2017, with specially trained Palms Sports black belt coaches delivering classes to an enthusiastic and determined team of students.
Mohamed Bin Zayed Tournament
By magnitude, the largest Jiu-Jitsu tournament anywhere in the world, the prestigious series of Jiu-Jitsu competitions reaches in excess of 17,000 competitors across all seven Emirates. The event presents competitors with an opportunity to perform in the presence of esteemed members of the UAE Royal Family. The competitive testing grounds serve to enhance talent identification and development whilst increasing competitor confidence and the desire to compete within local and international events.
