Miami Summer Camp

In cooperation between the ESE and Palms Sports, the school Jiu-Jitsu camp in Miami, USA, has concluded.

The members of the school Jiu-Jitsu team, consisting of 14 male and 9 female students from the Jiu-Jitsu school program in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, have returned after spending three weeks at the summer training camp in the city of Miami, Florida. The camp was organized by Palms Sports LLC in collaboration with ESE, as part of their commitment to the development and enhancement of the technical skills of the students in the program, which is considered the largest and most successful mass training program of its kind globally.

The students were selected to participate in this camp based on their achievements in the national school Jiu-Jitsu championships held at the end of the previous academic year, where all participants were students who won gold medals in those championships. Academic performance and ethical excellence were also important factors in selecting the participating students.

This training camp included intensive training sessions supervised by the renowned world champion coach Roberto Abreu, also known as “Cyborg,” the former champion of the Abu Dhabi Combat Championship. The students were accompanied by a group of coaches from Palms Sports LLC and administrative supervisors from ESE.

Regarding the importance of this training camp, Fouad Darwish, the CEO of Palms Sports LLC, stated, “We always strive to provide the best experiences and opportunities for our male and female students within the school Jiu-Jitsu program. Therefore, we launched this initiative to send a group of the best male and female students to participate in an external training camp at one of the best Jiu-Jitsu training clubs in the world, located in the city of Miami, USA. Our participants gained valuable technical and skilful experiences through the intensive training program prepared for them, as well as through interaction and training with other trainees from different nationalities and training schools.”

Darwish added that this training camp not only focused on developing and enhancing the technical skills of the players, but also aimed to enrich the students’ experiences, broaden their horizons, and provide them with important life skills, cultural experiences, and educational knowledge that help them build a well-rounded personality and excel in all aspects of their academic, sports, family, and social lives.

Moreover, the students participated in cultural and exploratory tours in the city of Miami. These trips provided an opportunity to learn about the diverse historical, artistic, and cultural heritage of the city.

The camp also contributed to the development of teamwork skills, self-confidence, and self-reliance among the participants through shared experiences and challenges. Undoubtedly, this camp has achieved remarkable success, offering an educational, sports, and cultural experience for all participants that contributed to refining and enriching concepts of personal development, teamwork, cultural exchange, and interaction. Its positive impact on the participants will continue to accompany them throughout their future life stages.
